Horrific lag on the connection … but here’s what I’m hearing:
“Tu es petrus” contrafactum of Pearsall RVW “All people” concertato some polyphonic “Vidi” polyphonic/responsorial Gloria polyphonic verses to responsorial psalm three-fold Alleluia Willan “Behold, the tabernacle of God” some motet that I don’t recognize organ improvisation as the lights are lit Parry “I was glad”
Here is the schedule, right directly from the select choir:
Prelude: "Tu Es Petrus", Pearsall Introit: Benedicite Dominum, Chant Introit again (antiphon only after announcement and blessing) "St. Michael and All Angels" organ piece, world premiere, set for brass, organ and timpani Processional Hymn: RVW Old Hundredth (Really weak organ intro) Sprinkling Rite: "Vidi Aquam", Victoria Gloria from "Mass for the Millennium", this Gloria was written specially for this mass Responsorial Psalm w/ polyphony, Ps. 19 music by Dr. Jerzy Cichocki Litany of the Saints (Chant) "Behold the Tabernacle of God", HWC 318 by Willan Offertory Antiphon: "Stetit Angelus", J. E. Ronan, founder of St Michael's Choir School Offertory Anthem: "I Was Glad", Parry Eucharistic Acclamations: A Community Mass Agnus Dei: Mass of St. Michael, Paul Halley Communion Antiphon: Domus Mea, Chant Communion Responsory: Psalm 84, Stephen Sommerville Communion Anthem: Te Deum in B flat, Stanford Ombrellino Procession: "Thou Royal Knight (Hymn to St Michael)", J. E. Ronan, arr Kola Owlabi Recessional: O God Beyond All Praising arr Proulx Postlude: The dreaded Widor Toccata
It was a really nicely celebrated mass, although the choir kept coming in late (unless that was intentional) on the entries for the chants. Dr. Cichocki was wonderful, and there was a weird conductor swap... Peter Mahon took over during the Hymn to St Michael during the last verse so Dr. Cichocki could go to the loft and conduct the brass.
