St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Carnegie, Pennsylvania, seeks a bass section leader for its Parish Choir and Schola Cantorum. The Parish Choir sings weekly for the 11:30 Sung Mass (Ordinary Form, Latin and English) from September through Corpus Christi. The Schola Cantorum sings holy day Masses approximately once per month. Additional singing opportunities are available throughout the Summer months. The repertoire of the Parish Choir spans the breadth of the Catholic tradition, while the Schola Cantorum focuses primarily on chant and Renaissance polyphony. The successful candidate will possess superior sight-reading skills, the ability to adapt vocal technique to suit the demands of a varied repertoire, a familiarity with ecclesiastical Latin, and experience with square note chant notation (or a willingness to learn). Competitive per-call stipend, with at least two calls per week during the academic year. Carnegie is located a few miles southwest of downtown Pittsburgh, easily accessible by public transit and interstates 376 and 79.
Interested singers should contact Nicholas Will, Director of Music, at music@seascarnegie.org.
