The Cathedral of Our Lady of Walsingham, Houston, TX, announces immediate openings for staff singers in all sections. The cathedral serves as the seat of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter, and thus an important emphasis is placed on sacred music which reflects that of the highest quality. Repertoire spans a wide range of historical periods with a focus on Renaissance polyphony and music of the English cathedral tradition. Candidates should possess excellent skills in sight-reading, vocal production, choral blend and general musicianship. Understanding and appreciation for Catholic liturgy as well as familiarity with Anglican and Gregorian chant is expected. Must be able to work well in collaboration with both professional and volunteer singers. Regular schedule includes Wednesday evening rehearsals and two Sunday Masses.
