Benjamin LaPrairie, associate director of music at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., will be giving an organ recital at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in La Grange, Kentucky at 4:00 pm on Sunday, May 1, 2016. He will be joined by Julianna Horton, music minister at Immaculate Conception, on violin. Mr. LaPrairie holds music degrees from the University of Michigan and Peabody Conservatory. He has served as organist for many notable liturgies including the Canonization Mass for Junípero Serra, celebrated by Pope Francis, and the funeral Mass of Justice Antonin Scalia. Ms. Horton has studied music at Indiana University and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Works will be presented by J.S. Bach, Reger, Near, Vierne, Rachmaninoff, and Widor.
