Our Lady of Walsingham Catholic Church, Houston, TX announces an immediate opening for a Tenor staff singer. Soon to be elevated to a cathedral (February 2016), Our Lady of Walsingham serves as the Principal Church for the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter, and thus an important emphasis is placed on sacred music of the highest quality. Repertoire spans a wide range of historical periods with a focus on Renaissance polyphony and music of the English cathedral tradition. Candidates should possess excellent skills in sight-reading, vocal production, choral blend and general musicianship. Understanding and appreciation for Catholic liturgy as well as familiarity with Anglican and Gregorian chant is expected. Must be able to work well in collaboration with both professional and volunteer singers. Regular schedule includes Wednesday evening rehearsals and two Sunday Masses. Competitive compensation with opportunities for additional remuneration for extra services.
