I'm sure those are "Jesse trees" :-)

  • Francis Seraph?
  • Liturgical chic!
At least we can take comfort in the fact that it could be worse -
and probably is in more places than we would want to contemplate.

    By the way:
What is known about the organ in this church?

Yesterday, the deacon concluded his sermon by wishing everyone a merry Christmas. I thought, "not yet you idiot. You of all people should know that."

Maybe it's just his (or their) wishful hurry-up thinking about the Cincinnati Bengals getting to the playoffs and Super Bowl?

Actually I think the Christmas Trees are the least eyebrow raising thing in this picture.

Maybe the console is hiding in the barn on the left to balance the piano on the right?

    Purple.

  • Take out the "seasonal" (or "unseasonable") decorations, add some kneelers (read that as either an object or a person-description; one doesn't need the object, except insofar as it encourages the person), and it looks like you end up with a beautiful church!

  • The church is St. Francis Seraph in Over-the-Rhine. The organ is/was a Kilgen.

    See here: http://www.schaedlepipeorgan.com/History.html
  • And that's the way it was. From 5 altars to 1, amongst other alterations:

If that thing catches fire, it will be a huge lawsuit.
  • The trees are really, really secular, no matter what you hang on them.
