The choir and orchestra of St. James in Elizabethtown KY will present their second Annual "Concert for the Poor and In Remembrance" Sunday Nov. 1 at 7:00 p.m.
Works will include: G. Faure Messe Basse Op.11 pour voix de femmes Gerald Finzi Romance op.11 for orchestra Lauridsen Lux Aeterna for chorus and orchestra Chant In Paradisum.
Proceeds from the offering will be given to the work of St. Vincent dePaul and their work for the poor of our city and county. Free admission
I love all these works and it is a great blessing to conduct them.
The poor are the ones who come to our doors....needing food, clothing, a place to stay for a moment. We see sometimes 100 people a day. The expenses are overwhelming. The concert seeks to help out St. Vincent dePaul with these expenses. Last year we raised about 3000$.
Thank you for clearing that up. I noted the date, and figured that since it was during the month of the holy souls, those in Purgatory were logical, especially given the music you're playing......
