  • Noel, größer Gott is "Greater God". Großer is the non-comparative adjective Gross with the nominative ending -er. You've also got a few "teh"s that the proofreaders didn't catch.
  • I looked at the sample pages, and agree with much of what he says about interpreting the hymn music to be played on the organ. I was an a RSCM dinner last year and a retired organist lamented to me that so many young organists these days are completely unable to lead a simple congregational hymn.

    I think part of the problem is that many organists don't sing. I don't mean that they should sing the hymns whilst they are playing, but a good understanding of basic singing technique greatly helps.

    A prominent organist said on his blog: "If you can't play a hymn, you can't play jack." and I think this rings absolutely true. Congregational hymns are bread-and-butter music for a parish organist. Chant, Motets, Organ Solos are the peanut butter and jam.
