A couple of years ago a lady approached me that her son's girlfriend was a lovely singer and was suffering from depression. She asked if she could join my choir even though she wasn't Catholic. I told her to send her over. I spoke with the young woman and heard her sing... a lovely voice and she could read. So she joined. This was one and a half years ago.
She came into the Church at Easter. She and her fiance will be married in the Church on Saturday, the Feast of the Assumption. Our choir will sing. She told me that she has found her home. She was lost and now is found. I hope I can get through the ceremony without crying!
That is a wonderful story. People don't know how to come home if they don't know they are lost. When we are not afraid to be who we are as the Church, and actually challenge people to come in, well, chango presto! That is true evangelism. Congrats!
