Has anyone out there adapted the Gloria Patri tones for introits/communions to English text?
I use Bruce Ford’s “American Gradual” with regularity and generally only need the antiphon, but on occasion I do have need of the verse, doxology, and antiphon repetition.
My adaptations are attached, assuming you want the Gloria Patri tones for the Introits in the Graduale Romanum (as opposed to the Office psalm tones). For most of the tones, for the last phrase, I give what you might call the literal adaptation first, then a more freely (egregiously) adapted alternative.
Palmer-Burgess probably has a more elegant solution.
