Kyrie IV organum by Schola Cantorum Gregorianum Bandungensis
  • Hello brethren!

I am Jeff from local schola cantorum in Bandung, Indonesia.

when feast of holy family in FE mass, we tried singing variation from Kyrie IV .
Because long holiday and lack of practice, we only practice this once, thus when we sung, sometimes a bit out of tunes.
We always use electronic chapel organ to accompanied us sung Gregorian chant. But this time we tried a cappella

this is our poor recording .

Very well done! It sounds like monks singing in a medieval chapel. I love it.

  • Very nice... I loved the start with a drone on the second Kyrie... (I think that is how I heard it).

Yes, in the second Kyrie, we using Drone , then in the third we using parallel organum . One of singer unprepared to sing above the cantus firmus, maybe next time :)

In Indonesia, most of us communicate using Facebook . So we know how to call someone depend on age or status, since its not anonymous.
But when in the forum , we using only nickname.
Nope, we dont have that cartoon :D

Mas Richard Mix :D , because Javanese is the most populous, that call is very popular .
It is unique, because Mas come from word Emas , mean Gold.

In formal Indonesian language, we use 'Kak' , but nobody use it , hahahaha"
