Father was a true Mensch. He was old school, an epitome of iron hand within velvet glove, and one of only a handful of hosts I would regularly watch on EWTN. RIP, good and faithful servant.
This is sad news. He was a great inspiration to me, a man who knew how to live according to truth and charity. He was a model priest as far as I'm concerned. I hope the next pope canonizes him.
I hope you will take this in the spirit in which it is intended.
I hope the next pope canonizes him
Let us hope that the proper 50 years goes by, or that miracles are quickly and repeatedly attributed to him, so that he can be free of any taint of the "saint factory".
I think the good father was at least as saintly, if not more so, than some of the more recent canonizations. I suspect his good intercession would be something worthwhile to have, whether he is canonized or not.
