Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a parish of 700 families in Danville, VA, seeks a full-time Director of Liturgy and Music. Responsibilities include providing organ accompaniment for weekend Masses, holy days, and other liturgical celebrations; directing choirs and cantors (English-speaking, Spanish-speaking, and children); planning and selecting music; and scheduling liturgical ministers using an online system. Candidates should be practicing Catholics who possess knowledge of the sacred liturgy. The ability to speak some Spanish is preferred. The parish sings the Ordinary of the Mass in Gregorian chant and employs some of the proper chants of the Mass, along with hymns.
