Attached is page one (ONLY) of the G. Schirmer edition, showing the introduction to Cesar Franck's Panis Angelicus. I have been doing some research on the phrasing for the melody of the introduction. I have studied the conductor score for his Solemn Mass where Panis Angelicus appears (cello, harp, organ, and "chant"), trying to get an accurate, or as accurate as possible, phrasing the this melodic line; however, what I am getting is a little ambiguous. Any string players, particularly cellists, out there, can you provide a suggested phrasing that would make sense for the introduction? Thank you. I am getting half a dozen different phraseological examples on Youtube, adding to my confusion.
