Music for Small Children's Choir
  • I have a small children's choir of approximately 8 children this year and am looking for some easy anthems for them. They know several chants and doing quite well with those. Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Would something from Kevin Allen's 3 voice motet series work?
  • Look into Saint James Music Press (www.sjmp.com)

They have some good children's music if you're willing to comb through scores. The adult stuff can be pretty good, too.

I'm partial to the children's anthem "It is I!" by Carson Coooman, which can be found over there.

Rossini's Canticum Novum has two-voice Latin motets.
  • I have just received an octavo of Orlando di Lasso's motets for 2 voices.

In another vein entirely, White's Prayer of St. Richard of Chichester might make a good piece, depending on context.

Also another good resource. Both printed books and PDFs available at the link.
