They should be familiar with the Church’s treasury of Sacred Music (including polyphony and chant) and have an appreciation for the liturgical tradition of the Church.
Responsibilities include: serving as organist/accompanist for all weekends, Holy Days, and other liturgical needs, as well weddings and funerals, directing the choirs (adult, children, funeral), development of cantors, coordinating liturgical ministers, and overseeing all aspects of the liturgical/musical life of the parish with a spirit of joy, love of God, and faithfulness to the Church.

*A note: I am leaving this position as I move to St. Mary's Seminary in Houston. I will be sad to leave for several reasons. We have an EXCELLENT new pastor, on fire for the faith, who preaches about beauty, truth, and goodness. There is a great staff, a wonderful choir, and it would be an awesome position if you are willing to move to Milwaukee (or if you are already there!) I am very happy to answer any questions by private message.
