Welcome, Wendy! Thanks for the information. As Bobby suggests, it would be helpful to see a few sample pages, and maybe a list of the contents. It could be useful to members serving in Polish parishes.

For those unfamiliar with the PNCC: I'm pleased at how relations between the Catholic Church and the Polish National Catholic Church have progressed in recent years. Things have even reached the point where PNCC members are officially permitted to receive the Eucharist in Catholic Masses if they are in a part of the country with no access to ministry from their own priests.

Fair enough, but considering that there are very, very limited resources available to the Polish community at large, and that this particular schism as you call it, is in dialogue with the Roman Catholic Church, and the fact that a good DM will go through the hymnal and weed out any potential problems, such as the case in which most of us do with our own Catholic hymnals, I don't see why calling attention to the hymnal being from the PNCC is really relevant. Some Roman Catholic churches even use the 1940 hymnal, should we be overly concerned about it's source of creation, the Episcopal church, with all of it's issues and schisms?

Once in a while I get a request for Polish hymns at funerals, despite not being from a parish that has a Polish Mass, a resource such as this Polish hymnal would be helpful in accommodating those requests.

A quick scan of the hymnal's index, posted by chonak, reminded me that years ago I had lost my music copies of two of my favorite Polish hymns, "Bogurodzico" and "Czarna Madonna" (Black Madonna), which I had done with choirs. I am assuming that the song listed as "Boga Rodzico" in the above-mentioned hymnal is the same one, but I do not see "Czarna Madonna" listed there? Does anyone have copies of either of these?

I found an interesting Polish Organ accompaniment book that deals with the Ordinary of the Mass, and could be use to those who play at Polish Masses... I certainly could have used it back in the day!
