This is, in a way, split off from an earlier thread. WHO wants higher pitch and WHY? In a lifetime of music, I have had only ONE memorable request for higher pitch, when the famous flutist James Galway handed me his personal pitch fork tuned to A=442 and asked that I tune the harpsichord up a little. All the piano tuners, organ tuners, and string players I've ever known have either been indifferent to where exactly to tune, or, in the case of most string players, preferring a slightly lower pitch.
Suppositions? Ideas? Maybe we can create a movement, although it may have been tried before ...
