I'm reveling in all the beautiful EF propers during the Paschal season, but the propers for the 4th Sunday of Easter are among the most breathtaking with the Introit Cantate Domino as the crown jewel, IMHO.

I never realized how many gorgeous settings of Psalm 95 there are, and it's been great fun trying to decide which one we'll sing this year as an Offertory piece, but we've settled on the Venetian Giovanni Croce.

The only question is what tempo to take. There's a wide diversity on the YouTube recordings I've been studying. Any suggestions?

This one by Friderici is also quite exquisite:

Not a direct example of this Sunday's introit, but hey, not too shabby!

EDIT: can someone explain to me like I'm 5 how to embed media?

Just cut and paste the URL on to your post. Like this. Nothing to it (otherwise I couldn't do it.)

    Great piece, by the way.

Did you make it a hyperlink? It's in blue font, so I think you may have made it a hyperlink, but you don't need to do that. Just cut and paste the YouTube URL right onto your message, and your video will appear like magic. (Courtesy of the prodigious computer skills of the legendary Chonak.)
