I'm wondering if anyone knowns any special songs that can be sung for the Ordinary Form funeral of a newborn infant. Besides a nice setting of the introit and communion, I would like to have something else to suggest to the priest who will meet with the family.
For a funeral Mass of an unbaptized child, see the Roman Missal (USA, 2011), starting on page 1379. The entrance and communion antiphons both look for no more death and tears. The hymn "Soon and Very Soon" comes to mind.
The Missal's rubrics (p. 1379) say that "ordinarily" the funeral should be a liturgy of the Word instead, as found in the Roman Ritual. That would be the Order of Christian Funerals (USA, 1989), which has several sections for unbaptized children: Part II, and Part III, chap. 15. In that chapter 15, Psalm 25 is offered.
