Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music or related field with knowledge of Sacred Music
Salary: $32,500.00 with Benefits (not including stipends from funerals, weddings etc.)
The LaSalle Catholic Parishes of Saint Hyacinth and Saint Patrick and Trinity Catholic Academy Grade School are seeking a full time person who would both teach music to our grade school students two mornings a week and also direct our music program at our two parishes. Our historic parishes of Saint Hyacinth and Saint Patrick have 650 and 500 families respectively while our grade school has 170 students. Our parish staff includes the Pastor, Father Antonio Dittmer; the Parochial Vicar, Father Paul Carlson; our Permanent Deacon, Gabriel Guerrero; as well as 2 part time secretaries and a book keeper. The position is expected to be filled by July 1st, 2014. It is open until filled, with review of applications beginning immediately.
Responsibilities: The responsibilities of this position, as seen below, can be discussed in more accurate detail with Father Dittmer during the interview. The responsibilities include: 2 mornings a week teaching at Trinity Catholic Academy Grade School Directing the liturgical music at both St. Hyacinth and St. Patrick Parish Availability for parish funerals, weddings and other parochial functions A love for the musical patrimony of the Church especially Gregorian Chant and Polyphany and a desire to enhance prayer at liturgy with an understanding of the Church's vision of sacred music. A flexible personality that can work with both young and old.
