Here we can take a lesson from Sarah Palin's brilliant performance of a modern sprechstimme composition. In spite of the complex rhythmic notation, Palin is able to perform with both accuracy and fluency:
Well, obviously there was reverse engineering going on here. But wouldn't it be great if we always imagined the rhythm that the imperfect system of musical notation aims to describe, and performed chant (and all music) with as much fluency?
