Ostrowski's Mass of the English Martyrs

    Hi All-

I just came across this: http://www.ccwatershed.org/mass_english_martyrs/ . I love it and the resources (practice videos, modern notation, organ accompaniment) would make it an easier "sell" at my parish.

One thing I'm confused about, though, it seems to be a compilation from some of Ostrowski's other Mass settings, is that correct? For the sake of musical continuity I'd rather use just one setting- why is this setting a "mix and match"? Not a criticism, I think it flows well from one to the next, just wondering though...

    Thanks!

Think of it as the Ostrowski Simplex.

It was his attempt to put together the most congregational-friendly set from among the many related complete settings he did.

That's kinda what I thought, just wanted to make sure I understood. Thank you. This seems promising for our parish... unfortunately, the politics are complicated but like I said, there's a lot about it that makes it easier to "sell" to the most vocal potential resisters... Thanks.
