    Does anyone recognize this Victimae Paschali? Is it something that is available? And are any of you the warrior organist at the keyboard in this recording?

    Prose de Pâques grégorien harmonisé par Jehan Revert, composed by Pierre Cochereau.

    The recording is of the organ and choir of Notre Dame de Paris (of which Cochereau was appointed titulaire in 1955). Track 5 on Grandes heures liturgiques à Notre-Dame de Paris.

    Imagine if this were recorded in an even more vast (but still Gothic) space (volumetrically speaking) like the cathedrals of Seville, Cologne or Milan. Think of *those* reverb times...

    Thanks, Liam! The pairing of music and religious images in this video is grand. I can only imagine what the first-hand experience of such an event would be...reverb of instrument and voice. The organ has the ability to evoke splendor and fear.

    Actually, I should correct myself. I am not sure if the composer is Cochereau or Revert. Revert is the younger. He was choirmaster at Notre Dame de Paris.

    I was told it was Cochereau by the choirmaster there. Would love to get my hands on the score. I asked once but was politely told "non."

    There's a UK-based organist named John Pryer who says that he transcribed the arrangement from that very recording, and that it has been performed at two or three different English churches over the last few years. Perhaps he would email you his transcription, if you can track him down.
