66 66 D hymntune
That's quite an ask. How about if you splice RAVENSHAW (Monk) and RIMBAULT together to make eight lines? It sounds pretty good to me even if there would be a full cadence in the middle.

English Translations of Chants of the Mass, Livestreaming, and Licensing
I would say the ICEL license as stated on p 25 “Use of ICEL Materials” doesn't allow recording or broadcast. It explicitly prohibits “other form”, and clearly the licensed form is only textual. So you can make copies for distribution or rehea…

Thanks for the music, it's gorgeous. I've enjoyed your rhythmic idiom from singing the Gradual settings, and here I'm hearing it with poetry, and lilting it is. (And now I know there's a closer metric translation of Iesous ahat…

Distinct (valid) translations
That said, the use of “chant” to translate “cantus” in the 2011 English GIRM is an error. And mischievous. (Wow has it really been exactly 10 years? So much water...)

Advent Hymns
What do you think of singing “Rorate cæli” (we do mean the Advent prose, right?) during a Rorate Mass? Perhaps we will choose to sing it then, this year (Dec 11). Now obviously the refrain is appropriate, but... somehow... the verses seem inapprop…

Distinct (valid) translations
In French the word chant means “singing” and “song”. Sacred monophony (especially but not exclusively Gregorian) is called plain-chant. In English [cf. OED "chant", 2a] the divergence of “chant” to connote sacred or monophonic (or mono…

Nice . In practice is the refrain sung in parts by the choir? Including IC, which has three parts? iC, 3. Line 2, I wonder if "For those who | keep his | cove- . nant^and | law" might be better, avoiding the rather strong accent on the …

Recorded music before Mass
Are there confessions going on? I have certainly heard recorded music, even before Mass, to help distort any voice audible during confession. Not Country & Western Christian Easy Listening, though, to be honest. It could be an aid to mortifi…

Psalm Tones
It depends on the season, but more to the point it depends on the antiphons. I would look in the Liber Usualis but there are several other books you could use. Would this be for all Sundays, going forward?

Have you ever had a priest “introduce”/give backstory to the readings?
So was this catechesis problem ever not a problem? Was it catechisis problems in 19th cyentury Russia? Was the “show” in Constantine’s St Peter’s or Egerria’s Jerusalem also embarrassingly mysterious?

Cardinal Cupich: "The Gift of Traditionis Custodes"
I love ritual accretions and residues. They're the moss on the wall, the Roman arches on the south side of the nave, the deep winding lane from the church to the village, the narrow passage from the Hall to the banquet chamber, the mismatched…

Help Locating this Antiphon

The Latin is just as ambiguous. The textual history of this little paragraph is rather difficult, unfortunately. The “official interpretation" from the CDF is that is the building of the altar that's desirable.
