The Cathedral of St. Joseph in St. Joseph, Missouri is hiring a new music director and K-8 music teacher. This is a full-time position: part-time with the school, part-time with the parish.

The school has around 100 students and the parish has around 500 active families. The ideal candidate would be able to teach music on some days of the week in the school and organize liturgical music on some days for the parish. The current music culture at the Cathedral upholds traditional hymnody as well as post-conciliar composition. The pastor desires a music director who can appropriately implement the Church’s vision for sacred music as outlined in her liturgical documents.

The Cathedral of St. Joseph is not the main Cathedral for the diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph; it is the old Cathedral when St. Joseph was its own diocese. It sits in downtown St. Joseph, just down the road from the city hall. The city is 45 minutes from Kansas City and 30 minutes from Atchison, KS.
