A friend of mine is getting married this summer and is interested in having the proper introit for the Nuptial Mass sung at her wedding. I believe it is (in the EF) the "Deus Israel"? Does anyone know of any polyphonic settings of this text?
Yes. In the OF the Graduale Romanum gives three choices: 1 «Deus in loco sancto suo», 2 «Domine, refugium factum est nobis», 3 «Timete Dominum, omnes sancti ejus». (And a rubric allows willy-nilly singing the «Deus Israel», which is a recent composition, by the way: just compare p. [121] of the 1961 Graduale with p. [119] of the 1871 Graduale!)
