A word of thanks, and a story
  • I just wanted to issue a word of thanks to Richard Rice and everyone who has worked in one form or another on the Parish Book of Chant. You allowed me to do something for others that I really wouldn't have been able to easily do any other way.

    Here is what happened.

I am eternally grateful. And quite possibly forever changed.

Great Story and a great experience. God Bless.
  • My prayers go out to the family and for the repose of his soul. What a touching story. This is absolute proof of the power of music, and sacred music in particular.

Requiem aeternam dona ei, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat ei.

  • What an extraordinary grace for you to be present in such a way at the time of death of this dear soul! Thank you for sharing this. May he rest in peace.

Very moving. That all who love the ancient chants of the Church will be so blessed when they pass from this life.
Some members of my schola and I sang the Libera Me and burial chants for the mother of a parishioner buried in the enormous marble mausoleum near our cemetery chapel last winter. Incredible to hear the sound of the solemn chant reverberating in that tremendous space.
