Vibrant Roman Catholic parish seeking part-time Director of Music (20 hours per week). Responsibilities include: playing for three masses each weekend and other celebrations as needed; directing the adult, school and funeral choirs; recruiting and training cantors; teaching music class in the parish elementary school; organizing/maintaining the parish’s music library and resources; preparing/disseminating schedules and music in a timely fashion. The successful candidate will: have, or be willing to acquire, basic information about Roman Catholic liturgy; possess the interpersonal skills needed to work effectively with the pastor, peers, and volunteers; play the organ proficiently; have experience with choral conducting and group vocal techniques for both adults and children.
