    Ministry Purpose: The Director of Liturgical Music’s primary responsibility is to plan and conduct music in support of liturgies and other services, in accordance with the Pastoral Plan. The Director of Liturgical Music may also function as an accompanist as required. Work schedule shall be set in consultation with the Pastor.
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    *Work with the Pastoral Team in determining the goals of the overall music program in the Collaborative.
    *Plan music for all liturgies and other services in a timely manner.
    *Coordinate the music programs with the liturgical calendar and implement Archdiocesan guidelines for appropriate music for funerals, weddings and other liturgies.
    *Keep informed and up-to-date on current music methods, materials, utilizing them where appropriate.
    *Recruit and form cantors, adult choir and children’s choir members and establish regular rehearsals for them.
    *Develop a repertoire of traditional and contemporary liturgical music in the Collaborative.
    *Work with cantors to develop their skills and presentation.
    * Attend Pastoral Team meetings and Collaborative Liturgy Committee meetings.
    *Collaborate with the Director of Parish Ministries in forming liturgical ministers in preparation for Sunday/Holyday liturgies throughout the year and the Easter Triduum.
    *Participate in ongoing formation and workshops.
    Music Program Implementation:

    *Direct the planning and conducting of music programs within the Collaborative.
    *Coordinate the liturgical schedules of music ministers within the Collaborative.
    *Expand and enhance the breadth and depth of liturgical music, using an ever-increasing number of genres of music played and sung at Masses.
    *Availability for funeral and wedding and some school liturgies.
    Qualifications:

    *Minimum of 5 years prior experience in music ministry.
    *BA degree in music is preferred.
    *Must have comprehensive knowledge of Catholic Church teachings concerning liturgy and liturgical music.
