Professional Staff Singers
Schola Cantorum, St. Mary’s Church, Nutley, NJ

St. Mary’s Church in the suburban township of Nutley, NJ seeks professional staff singers of all voice parts for the St. Mary’s Schola Cantorum, newly established professional ensemble. The Schola will focus on performing a cappella choral repertoire, especially polyphony and chant, at the 12 noon Sunday Mass (11:30 warm-up) and other customary holy days throughout the year from mid-September through early June. Following the 12 noon Mass and a break, rehearsal for the following Sunday will take place. Exceptional sight-reading ability, enjoyment of singing without vibrato, comfort singing one- and two-per-part, and willingness to learn neumatic chant notation are expected.
