Terminology in the EF Calendar - Septuagesima

Ever since starting to sing for the Extraordinary Form (4 years ago this June), the biggest difference in the calendar between the EF and OF we've noticed is that, for the three weeks before Lent (Septuagesima through Quinquagesima Sundays) are significantly different from the OF Calendar. We have no Gloria and we sing the Tract instead of the Alleluia, so as far as the Mass is concerned, it is the same as during Lent.

But I find it difficult to know how to refer to this period. It's not Lent, and I've heard people refer to the period as 'Septuagesima' or 'Septuagesimatide', but those seem unwieldy compared to 'Lent', 'Advent', or 'Easter' - and as a 21st century English speaker, I never use over 5 syllables when 1 or 2 will do. ;-)

Does anyone know if there is any other way to refer to this season? or suggestions?

I believe it's just referred to as "Pre-Lent"
