Does anyone know of a fair setting of the Our Father chant?
  • The ones in The Adoremus Hymnal and Worship are good.

If you're looking for the english one, Aristotle Esguerra has a nice harmonization of the Robert Snow Our Father. However, I can't find it now...

    Ostrowski-

Are there versions without the large purple letters and disturbing purple line?

    Thanks,
I suppose I was looking for one that matched the ICEL version with the embolism. This is something I need to show my Pastor.

    matthewj,

I should do that ... except what's the point now? I think the new melody will be promoted.

    PMullh.,

I figured you might want the new one, but others were showing some of the OLD ones, so I thought I'd toss in my "two cents"

I was unclear whether the new melody was even going in the US edition of MR3. Did the USCCB vote to keep the old one alongside the new or the instead of?

I agree the new is better - less "down" to it as Scott Turkington put it, but since my congregation really sings the old one well, I might not fuss with it.

I doubt we'll see the new melody take over the old.
