Morgan Park United Methodist Church is an historic 120 year-old congregation in the Beverly/Morgan Park community of Chicago with a membership of 180. This position requires 10 hours per week including worship service preparation, choir rehearsal, Sunday morning worship service, and seasonal services. Applicant must be familiar and comfortable with both traditional and contemporary styles of church music; must be willing to coordinate youth music participation in worship settings; must work closely with pastor on preparing appropriate music for worship services. Possibility of a bell choir. Attendance at worship planning meeting is strongly encouraged in order to be actively engaged in worship planning. This position provides an opportunity to relate to all age groups, to work with a diverse community of believers, to develop an inspiring worship atmosphere, and to grow the music ministry of the church.
