Job Description St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Manchester, Michigan is searching for a part-time director of music/organist responsible for three weekend liturgies plus all sacramental services including First Communions, Confirmations, weddings and funerals as well as the traditional Catholic holy days including Holy Week, Easter and Christmas. Although a small (400 families), rural parish, we seek to draw closer to Jesus Christ through the Holy Mass with a solidly orthodox repertoire. Currently we have a small adult choir and a small children's choir. (There is no parish school.) Requirements include: Must be a Roman Catholic with an evident faith life and have a reverential approach to liturgy. Must be proficient in organ. The ideal candidate would have knowledge and love of the Church's tradition of sacred music and traditional hymnody, be versed in chant, and know the importance of sustaining the beautiful in church music.
