Sightsinging solfege
  • I am helping an adult male, who is new to chant, with reading and sightsinging . I am using Ward Method charts for a few minutes of intensive practice each week, starting with just do-re-mi, and eventually progressing up the scale. Does anyone know of audio files that would help him, so he can practice on his own? I googled: solfege sightsinging midi and a plethora of sites came up, some of which were just texts for sightsinging.

www.musictheory.net has some good tools, but I'm not sure if they are exactly what you are looking for. On the sight-singing portion, you can select Major Scales Only. There is also a very robust interval identification section. We use this in our fundamentals of music courses all the time.
