Italian hymn: looking for original

    In a Dutch hymnal I found the attached hymn for Holy Thursday or Good Friday. It is a translation of an Italian hymn. The refrain runs:

    "In the Cross of the Lord is all our glory, salvation and resurrection."

    Who knows the original Italian version of this hymn? I would like to know the title, author and composer and have a copy of the melody (to see if it is correct).

    Thank you! Well, new questions arise. The melody is from a piece by Jacob Gallus (1550–1591). Which piece? From what year?

    The author of the 1967 text is G.M. Medica. What is his full name?

    I don’t imagine it helps much, but the information I see says it’s a corale i.e. chorale.

    The author may have been Giacomo Maria Medica, S.D.B. (1910-1993).
