    In a volume called Canciones para la Juventud de América printed in Washington DC and copyright 1960 Facultad de Ciencias y Artes Musical de la Universidad de Chile I came across a 2-part arr. by Juan Amenábar using the Gregorian tune with a 'bass descant'. What's ambiguous is the copyright status of the translation, one I haven't seen before:

    Ven Espíritu Santo
    y derrama desde el cielo
    rayos de tu luz divina.

    ven padre de los pobres,
    ven dispensador de bienes,
    ven luz de los corazones...

    Anyone recognize it?

    It's likely that Amenábar himself translated it, or could have asked a cleric friend to do it, which was common for Chilean composers on those days.

    I know Dom Gaspar Lefebvre's Misal Diario y Vesperal was widely used here in Chile, so the translation may also be from there. Unfortunately, I haven't got a copy to check myself right know, but I can find out if it's really important.
