"Christus factus est" translation

    In the Ordinary Form, the same text is used for the verse of the Gospel Acclamation: Philippians 2:8-9.

    However, in the Lectionary, it's translated with a one-word difference between the two days. Anyone know why?

    PALM SUNDAY
    Christ became obedient to the point of death,
    even death on a cross.
    Because of this, God greatly exalted him
    and bestowed on him the name which is above every name.

    GOOD FRIDAY
    Christ became obedient to the point of death,
    even death on a cross.
    Because of this, God greatly exalted him
    and bestowed on him the name which is above every other name.

    Probably two different groups of people on the team did the translations separately. Symptom of left hand not knowing what the right is doing.

    Another example of this is the translation of John 11:25-26 which according to USCCB reads "I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die."

    but in the lectionary, sometimes reads:

    "I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will never die"

    or better yet "...even if he dies, will not die forever"

    Well, there's a difference between the NAB that the USSCB uses for those links, the NAB as adapted for the Lectionary. That goes back to the problems with revising the NAB.
