Annunciation Catholic Church, the oldest church in continuous use in Houston and mother of all the Catholic parishes in Houston, is seeking to fill the part-time position of Music Director. There is the possibility of negotiating for incorporating other duties to make this a full-time position. We are seeking applicants who possess strong abilities in directing, teaching, singing, and playing the pipe organ. Annunciation is a unique parish that worships in the Ordinary Form in the English and Latin languages, as well as in the Latin Extraordinary Form. We are currently conducting sung vespers in both forms. The position includes directing Sola Stella, a professional choir in residence at Annunciation.

The majority of our parishioners come from far and wide throughout the Archdiocese and beyond. Annunciation is a parish family that fosters reverence and sacredness in our worship and appreciation for the heritage of our Catholic faith. Because of its rich history and stunningly beautiful architecture and aesthetic Annunciation is a very popular location for weddings, providing opportunities for additional income. Annunciation is located in downtown Houston. Three of Houston's major sporting venues are within our parish boundaries including Minute Maid baseball stadium which is located across the street. We are near the George R. Brown Convention Center. These venues bring many visitors from all over the world to Annunciation. Numerous new hotels and new apartment buildings are under construction and nearing completion and anticipated occupancy. Our church is not far from Houston’s theater district located down the street. Our setting provides the opportunity for furthering a positive dynamism for evangelizing through sacred beauty.
