    Good afternoon,

I have very recently moved to Regina, Saskatchewan. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good scholas or choirs in the area, or any parishes with good music programs.

    Thank you so much

I wish I could help you. A quick google search and a glance at the diocesan website revealed nothing. If you don't get information here, you may have to do some footwork and just go church shopping and ask anyone and everyone you meet. I know there were some people at the Colloquium from the prairies, but I can't remember their exact location. Best wishes!

The Gregorian Institute of Canada held its 2014 summer colloquium in Regina; perhaps the program has some local contacts who can help you find local choirs:

For instance, there is the Campion Schola at the University of Regina:

I would definitely drop by Holy Rosary Cathedral and have a chat with Valerie Hall. Regina isn't really a hotbed of traditional choral music, but she's doing great things there and might know of others. You could also get in touch with the director of the Luther Bach Choir, Jonathan Achtzehner. He and I attended the same church growing up in Regina, and he's a very fine musician.

Thank you so much for all the suggestions.

I grew up in Regina as well, and often attended Mass at the Cathedral, so that will likely be a good place to start.

I went to Campion at the U of R, but there was no schola back then. I am glad to hear there is now.

    Thanks again.
