St. Joseph Parish and Catholic School in Imperial Missouri is seeking a full-time school music teacher and children's choir director. Applicants must be certified to teach music. In addition to teaching classes for pre-school to 8th grade, the job will include accompanying school Masses Tuesday-Friday, selecting and training cantors for school Masses, and directing a Christmas and Spring Musical. The position also includes developing and conducting a children's choir weekly at the 10 am Mass. Highly qualified applicants will be considered for the additional role of music director with responsibility for the effective planning, coordination, and execution of music within the all the liturgical celebrations of the parish. Essential to success in this position is knowledge of the Catholic liturgy, choir direction experience and competence with piano or organ. A vibrant Catholic faith, an appreciation for and experience with a diversity of liturgical musical styles, both ancient and contemporary, and organ experience are preferred. Compensation will be based on the archdiocesan scale for teachers with additional pay for parish and year-round responsibilities.
