St. Mary’s, Sleepy Eye, a beautiful Catholic parish in rural southwest Minnesota, is seeking a Parish Music Director. He/she would be the primary organist, the parish Adult choir director, the Children's choir director, the High School Choir director (meets for 45 minutes M-F in the Parish school), the Schola instructor and director/organist (this is a school Mass choir of mostly Sopranos and Altos with 1-2 short rehearsals a week and 1 Mass a week, with once a month Sunday Mass commitment), the director of a possible Traditional Latin Mass Schola on an intermittent basis. There would also be a sister parish with some needs - school Mass weekly and possible introduction of choirs / organ at Sunday or Saturday Masses, as schedule allows.

The parish has several English Novus Ordo Masses a weekend. There is also a small Spanish Mass one could get involved with if desired. There is an Extraordinary Form Mass every Sunday at the sister parish that could become an outlet for growing an EF Schola.

Great community, beautiful church, great commitment to beauty and liturgical renewal. A beautiful, 3 maual, Wichs pipe organ in the choir loft - newly refurbished (http://www.moepipeorgan.com/sleepyeye/). Digital baby grand in the sanctuary. Adult choir has a long history of singing Latin hymns but is relearning chant. There is a strong desire to maintain choral parts singing.

Catholic liturgical experience required. Knowledge of a wide variety of liturgical and choral music prefered.
Competent on organ / piano required. Experienced choral director desired. Teaching license in music prefered. Interpersonal and communication skills required. Salary DOE.
