    According to here next Friday would mark the 450th anniversary of the first performance of the Missa Papae Marcelli. Can anybody here confirm this information?

    At least one source has this mass performed on Saturday, 28 April 1565, by order of Cardinal Vitellozzi, which would make the first performance date a little earlier. However, sources could well be dubious.
