    Does anybody have any corrections to the following poem in Latin? If you'd like to use it for your own compositions, you may do so.

    Iucunda Anima Mea

    Iucunda anima mea est,
    Propter faciem Dei video,
    Cuius lux me luceat
    Et ad dextro suus,
    Video filius sanctus.

    Eus mecum sunt,
    Et cum illis sum,
    Nunc et semper
    Amen.

    Yes. The text is:

    Joyful is my soul,
    For I see the face of God,
    Whose light shines upon me,
    And at His right side,
    I see the Holy Son.

    They are with me,
    And I with them,
    Now and forever
    Amen.

    Is it an original text? Maybe it needs some work, still. I say that because I've always thought that the "face of God" and "the Son" are not two things.

    Is this a Google Translate effort? I think the only two lines without problems are "Nunc et semper / Amen."

    I am also confused about the theology of the poem; I associate looking upon the face of God, as well as being with God forever, with being a soul in heaven.

    Yes, it was an original text intended for a funeral. Perhaps it might be better abandoned if there are theological issues with it.

    Psalm 27 (26 in the Vulgate) has thematically similar material, if that's any help.
