Beginner's Books on Chant
  • I would like advice on what books would be helpful to teach chant to whoever decides to join, and whether it would be better to start off in English or Latin.

    www.frogmusic.com

Beginner's books on reading and singing Gregorian Chant. All three books in the top ten of books sales in a search for Gregorian Chant Book on Amazon.com.

Another book is solely devoted to singing chant in English, features a video that includes chant sung in English by Matthew Curtis, and has a curriculum for Home Schooling.

Printed books available at a discount for choirs and all available as complete free downloads, fully legal to copy and share indiscriminately.

Also download The Catholic Choirbook Anthology 1 while you are there. Same deal for choirs, same price for downloads - free.

( I also highly recommend "An Idiot's Guide to Square Notes".)

    Noel,

Thanks for the link! I used the Pulse of Music series to learn how to read & sing Gregorian Chant.

Noel, you are a master teacher! I love your chant books. Your Gregorian chant coloring book is pure genius.

I agree. Our choir used these resources with great success.
