Propers Tool Down
  • I've been waiting for the Propers Tool to at romanliturgy to start working again...it won't generate the PDF. Can anyone help? I might have to learn how to use the photocopier again. :)

Have you contacted the people who operate romanliturgy.org?

The web site has an "about" page with contact information.

From the appearance of things, their system doesn't actually have its own installation of Gregorio, and it doesn't actually produce the PDF. Instead, when you click the PDF link at romanliturgy.org, the GABC code is transferred over to be processed by the Gregorio system at illuminarepublications.com/gregorio . Some part of the latter system has changed, so romanliturgy.org needs to be updated correspondingly.

In the meantime, you can copy the GABC code manually and paste it over to
    http://illuminarepublications.com/gregorio/
    or http://gregorio.gabrielmass.com/ (my site)
and process it there. It's easy.

My own tool broke as well, because there was a URL change at the Illuminare site.

I would let the site know that it is broken, and suggest that they contact illuminare's web guy, Benjamin Bloomfield for details on the new api. Sancta_Scholastica, check your PMs for Benjamin's email. I'd rather not post it in public, for his sake.

  • Thank you Chonak and Ben. I didn't even realise they had a website. I just found a way around the error... if you click on Further PDF Options and then generate the PDF from there it works! But I will still do as you have suggested.

Chonak can you put multiple scores on the one page using your tool?

My site is for generating one score at a time. To combine scores, you could convert the PDFs to image files (using an image editor program such as Photoshop or GIMP), crop the images down to size, and use a word-processing program to put them together in the context you want.

You can also combine PDF's with a program like PDF995 (free, with a little ad pop-up thats easy to close out)
  • Thank you chonak and ryand for the technical support, I really appreciate it. I'm always looking for ways to improve (and simplify) our booklets.

It seems to be working again. Many thanks!
